The Aristarete Gallery is the SLRandom ArtCrew’s dedicated exhibition space within the crew’s Second Life region. Named after Aristarete, a painter from ancient Greece cited by Pliny the Elder and one of the earliest named women artists in recorded history, the gallery hosts rotating shows featuring digital photography, painting, SL photography, and 3D sculptural work by Second Life residents and crew members.
The gallery space is designed to function as a proper exhibition environment rather than a wall of thumbnails. Works are displayed with space to breathe, and the layout changes with each show. Past exhibitions have featured crew collaborations, solo shows by guest artists, and thematic group exhibitions tied to the crew’s wider projects.
